KNX HVAC

The course aims to provide the minimum skills required to integrate the management of new generation HVAC systems into KNX, for the commissioning of which it is not sufficient to know how to program KNX devices, but it is necessary to acquire the basic skills concerning the functional characteristics and criticalities of HVAC systems.

The course is aimed at designers, installers, maintenance engineers in possession of the KNX Basic Certificate At the end of the KNX Basic Course, the student will have to take a theoretical and practical exam in order to verify the knowledge acquired.

The world of Home and Building Automation is evolving; KNX Partner companies are continuously growing, and alongside them, the range of KNX products on the market is expanding, along with the functions that KNX systems develop and implement.

PREREQUISITES

To enroll in the course, participants must hold a KNX Partner certification. It is recommended that attendees have prior experience in commissioning KNX systems. While KNX Advanced certification is suggested, it is not mandatory.

CONTENT

Since 2019, certified KNX training has been expanded to provide installers with the minimum necessary skills to integrate next-generation HVAC systems into KNX. Commissioning these systems requires more than just knowledge of KNX device programming; it also necessitates an understanding of the fundamental principles, characteristics, and functional challenges of HVAC systems. These include:

  • Simple radiant heating systems
  • Integration with KNX-native VRF systems or proprietary Bus systems
  • Complete management through KNX sensors and actuators
  • Radiant climate control systems combined with Mechanical Ventilation Systems (VMC), possibly with integrated dehumidification functions

DURATION

The KNX HVAC Certified course consists of 18 hours over two in-person days, concluding with a final test required to obtain certification.
